ACTION or EFFECT:
– It’s many crevasses and corners adsorb gasses, foreign protein, body waste, chemicals, drugs but not nutrients and it does not “desorb”.
– It is vegetable material (wood, nutshells, coconut) or bone which is smoldered to coals and is 90% carbon.
-It reduces inflammations, adsorbs poisons, cleanses, assists healing, deodorizes and disinfects.

Pain- with fomentation or other heat source
Heat ground flaxeed in boiling water, add charcoal (1/2 & 1/2).
Spread on Chux or paper towel.
Seal with masking tape applied so it will be away from the skin.
Place layer of saran wrap over poultice and secure with ace.

CONTRAINDICATIONS or Precautions:
-Will adsorb all prescription drugs.
-Do NOT take regularly for years. Up to 12 weeks or intermittent for long periods
-Slows transit time (use with plenty of water and flax seed ground)
-Charcoal is NOT burned food which develops harmful chemicals: methylcholanthrene and benzopyrene
-Charcoal is NOT briquettes which are chemically treated
-It is NOT for caustic substances such as lye (vinegar would be a better antidote). It irritate the bowels in sensitive persons
– NOT for overdose of nutrients such as iron or salt.
-Do NOT apply to broken skin – it will tattoo (use a comfrey poultice instead)
– Food interferes with effectiveness. 50% loss. Do NOT take with meals, increases speed of digestion and nutrients may be lost
